Song Li  lives in Beijing where she was born and raised. She graduated in 2001 from the Academy of Arts and Design at Tsinghua University, where she majored in Fine Arts. “Art has always been one part of my life, that I use to calm myself down when I am angry or upset”.  

“Sometimes I am confused by the definition of contemporary art, or perhaps I am just unconcerned with the question. I have never agreed with those who stand against tradition - on the contrary, I've always been interested in China's traditional art, especially the bronze ware of the Qin and the Han's clay brick reliefs , which still glow even after thousands of years. They will never go out of date, and so for me they are still "modern". That's partly why I use traditional natural pigments as the main media for my work. They are more difficult to use than most modern media, and I find that a great test of my patience, but I like to blur the boundaries between different periods of art. I'm trying to get back to artistic basics, and use those old media to create something new”.

Ting-Ting is a 2004 graduate of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China.

Her interest as an artist began when she was 3 years old and has continued to grow and mature. She has studied and refined her skills as an artist in classical realism, watercolors, handwriting, landscapes, charcoal and oil paintings. Her education as an artist started when she was 9 years old when she learned to sketch and draw, use watercolors and draw from nature.

She is also a member of the Beijing Opera, where she performs and has painted her selfportrait in character, displayed on the website.

“Out of the mainstream in the complex and intricate areana of my motherland, China; I find inspiration in the richness of my people.

History has painted many of the bold strokes of color that inspire and dare me to be different. Imperfection that is subtle and quiet in harmony, with an ancient order that offers protest to the steady passage of time. Our lives are temporary, only guarded by momentary brilliance in the larger context of nature. Each piece is the uncovering of these symbols of life and secured in a colorful world that discourages boundaries. Art is a process with surprising turns off the main road, capturing a piece of history. Alongside the rock-strewn path of my journey, allow me to leave behind the brilliance of inspiration.”

Weiguo Liao graduated from the oil painting department of Capital Normal University in 1994.

He has worked as a graphic designer, as a painter, as teacher and as publisher. His interests go further than just painting, advertizing, caligraphy, poetry, literature and publishing, all have his deep interest.
Weiguo Liao is also a great sports fan, he is a pretty good badminton player.

“Painting isn’t my whole life, it is a way to express myself. All of my interests influence my work” he says. Weiguo Liao currently lives in Beijing together with his wife Wang Song Yan.
